Kenya: Lamu's Brighter Stars Join Nationwide League

FOOTBALL Kenya Federation have officially included Lamu County's Brighter Stars in the Nationwide ranks ending a two-month long anxiety that had gripped the North Coast branch.

Stars now joining Maweni City from Malindi district in Kilifi county to represent the seaside region. Speaking from Malindi yesterday, North Coast branch chairman John Ngowa said he had received official communication from the FKF national office that has cleared the air.

"As we are speaking I'm in possession of a letter from the national FKF office stating clearly that Brighter Stars have joined the Nationwide ranks. We are grateful as a region to have two teams from this branch representing the entire Coast, " said Ngowa.

Maweni landed the Nationwide platform after finishing top in the North Coast. FKF rejected teams from the South Coast citing irregularities in their league.
