Gambia/Mauritania: Gambia-Mauritania Match Venue Confirmed

Match venue for Gambia to host the Mourabitounes of Mauritania has been revealed, Foroyaa Sports can confirm.

The Normalisation Committee confirmed Independence Stadium as the ground to host the travelling Mauritanian side for Gambia's Wednesday test match.

Initially, usage of the 20,000 multi-purpose stadium was in doubt due to ongoing constructions. But having met with the sports minister in an executive meeting, it emerged that the pitch will be in use this Wednesday -a ground that home side Gambia uses for most of its international matches.

The Scorpions whose team will comprise home-based players, takes on the Mourabitounes in two test matches; the first on Wednesday and the second on Saturday.

The second match will be played later mid-afternoon with Real De Banjul return leg Caf Champions league tie slated for the same day at 3pm.

Wednesday's encounter is part of Gambia's warm-up ahead of Ivory Coast March World Cup qualifier game in Abidjan.
