Asmara — The Eritrean community members residing in the Sudanese Red Sea region conducted first regular meeting last week.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Ismail Mussa, in charge of Public Affairs in the Eritrean Embassy in Khartoum, indicated that the meeting's timeliness is significant in connection with the investment prospects in the Homeland. He further called on the nationals to enhance participation in State affairs, and expressed the Embassy's readiness to collaborate with them.

Moreover, the nationals heard reports presented by the interim board of the community, and elected a new committee which would serve for two years. Cultural shows were also staged following the meeting in which around 800 citizens participated, besides Sudanese guests of honor and Eritrean community representatives from the Sudanese cities of Khartoum, Kassala and Gedarif.
