Rwanda: AS Kigali Trounce Urumuri in Women League

Champions AS Kigali humiliated Urumuri 9-0 on Sunday at Camp Kigali ground to boost their hopes of winning a fourth consecutive women national football league title.

Grance Nyinawunmuntu's side scored their goals through skipper Shadia Uwamahirwe, Anne Ibangarye and Claire Uwamahoro, who got a brace each as well as Sandrine Niyigena and Saida Ntagisanimana, who added one a piece.

Former champions APR also enjoyed a field day out with a 5-0 hammering of Bugesera at Ferwafa artificial turf. Imirasire lost at home against Rambura 2-1, Esir beat Kamonyi 1-0 at Remera Rukoma ground, while Inyemera overacme Les lionnes in Gicumbi 2-0.

AS Kigali continue to lead the league with 18 points, two points ahead of second-placed ESIR while Urumuri is at bottom without a single point after seven rounds of matches played this season.
