Angola At 22nd Human Rights Council Session

Geneva — An Angolan delegation led by the Minister of Justice and Human Rights Rui Mangueira is representing the country from Monday at the 22nd Session of the Human Rights Council, taking place in Geneva (Switzerland).

The session that is running until March 22 will be preceded by a High Level Segment, in which the Angolan minister will deliver his address on behalf of the country.

The session will be divided into two panels: "Declaration and Action Programme of Vienna on Human Rights, in celebration of the 20th

anniversary" and "Integrating of Human Rights in the UN system."

Among the guests to the panel, stress goes to the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navy Pillay, the special representative of the UN Secretary General for Establishment Process of Development Agenda post 2015, Amina Mohamed.

The UN Women executive director, Michelle Bachelot and the Director-General of UNESCO, Irina Bokova are also attending the session.

The event will also sddress the issues that tops the International news media , with emphasis on the human rights situation in Syria, Mali, Sri Lanka, Iran, North Korea, Myanmar, Cote d ' Ivoire and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
