Egypt Hopes More Cooperation Among Nile Basin Countries

Egypt is keen on promoting joint cooperation with the Nile Basin Countries to make use of the economic and natural resources and help them in facing economic problems and poverty.

The remark was made on Monday 25/2/2013 by Manpower and Immigration Minister Khaled el-Azhari during the inauguration of the third meeting of the Federation of Workers Syndicates of Nile Basin countries, which is organized by Egyptian Trade Union Federation (ETUF).

The two-day meeting aims at declaring an African partnership to promote cooperation among the Nile Basin countries in investment projects.

Speaking at the opening of the forum, the minister said that Egypt's ties with the Nile Basin countries are based on initiatives among citizens and the NGOs.

The trade unions play important role in promoting cooperation among the Nile Basin countries, he said, calling on Egypt's workers to be united and maintain cooperation with the African and Arab trade union organizations.
