Kenya: Mulinge Wife Laid to Rest

Hundreds of people attended the funeral of the wife of former general Jackson Mulinge at Kathiani district in Machakos county. Grace Nundu was among the founders of maendeleo ya wanawake organisation and the second wife to the former chief of general staff.

Among the mourners were retired army officers and politicians,friends of the ailing general whose speech was read on his behalf. Nundu who was instrumental in empowering women passed on last weekend at the Nairobi hospital after a long battle with cancer.

Immediate former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti paid tribute to Nundu for empowering women when gender equality was forbidden by culture.

Also present was the chief executive of the medical practitioners and dentists board,Daniel Yumbya and immediate former Mavoko mayor Patrick Makau who is contesting the Mavoko parliamentary seat.
