A bishop has urged residents to vote for visionary leaders on March 4. Bungoma Catholic Diocese Bishop Norman King'oo said the region has plenty of resources and needs good leaders to tap them for the benefit of the people.
He said clashes that occurred in the area between 2006 and 2008 were due to poor leadership. The Sabaot Land Defence Force killed more than 1,000 people and displaced 60,000 in violence that erupted over land. He said most of the residents are poor yet the area is fertile.
