Uganda: Star Trail - Nation in the News for a Good Reason

Notts County has appointed Chris Kiwomya as manager for the remainder of the season.

Kiwomya has been caretaker manager of the Npower League One club for four matches since Keith Curle was sacked at the beginning of February, following a 2-1 defeat at then-bottom club Hartlepool.

After losing his first game away at Stevenage, County is unbeaten in three outings. The former Arsenal and Ipswich striker gained his first win last night as the Magpies came from behind to beat Bury 4-1 at Meadow Lane. The Notts County board has been impressed with Kiwomya's work and has put their faith in him for the club's remaining 13 matches.

"Chris has shown his desire and enthusiasm for the job and coupled this with a tactical astuteness that has allowed him to turn things around when they haven't been going exactly as we would have liked," Chairman Ray Trew.

Mega Dee never says die

Leave alone the flops that have characterized his past shows where people have advised him to quit music; General Mega Dee is not about to heed to the calls and the latest from Afande Records are claims that he is the music icon of Busoga sub-region.

But Star Trail is not certain whether his claim will go down well with other Basoga singers such as Zuena Kirema, Maurice Kirya, Vampino, East World, Rachel Magoola, Maro and Kyansuti, among others.

Ssegawa is now my brother - Wanyana

While emceeing at Stecia Mayanja's show at Hotel Explorer last weekend, the audience wanted to know why Ruth Wanyana is never seen with her husband, actor John Ssegawa.

This was after she told them she was searching for a rich man. That one [Ssegawa] is my brother, period," Wanyana told the crowd about the father of her two children.

Ssegawa has also publically said that Wanyana is just a mother of his children.

Aziz Azion fired!

Aziz Azion is no longer a member of Westend Entertainment after falling out with his managers Mubarak and Diriisa. The two reportedly sacked Aziz and now he has started a new record label, More Music Entertainment.

While at Entebbe during Mampi's recent concert, he told his fans that he quit amicably, but the two have since insisted that they sacked him and they are now looking to recruit other people to their label.

Julianna in US collabo

After scooping a Kora award for the best East African female artiste, singer Julianna Kanyomozi is already into big things. The latest sleaze is that Julianna has done a collabo with New York-based Ghanaian musician, Jay Ghartey.

We are told Julianna is currently in the United States, where she sealed the deal with the singer. Their song will be released soon as one of her 2013 projects. However, the duet's title is yet to be revealed.
