Kenya: Officer Vouches for for the Disabled

A gender officer has urged Kenyans to give women and the disabled a chance to sell their policies. Migori district gender and social development officer Pauline Odawa said Kenyan must respect the rights of women and the disabled to seek elective posts as enshrined in the constitution.

Odawa was speaking yesterday when she gave Sh1.7 million to 27 women groups from the Women Enterprises Fund. "It's constitutional to give everyone, with interest, an opportunity to participate in an electoral process," the gender and social development officer said.
