Eritrea: Inhabitants of Wazintet Administrative Area Elect Local Administration Staff

Hamelmalo — The inhabitants of Wazintet Administrative area, Hamelmalo sub-zone, have elected Area administrator and local administration staff, including Village administrators.

In a remark he made before the election, Mr. Fitwi Gebremeskel, Administrator of Hamelmalo sub-zone, called on the inhabitants to make a sober vote for inhabitants who are free from sub-national feelings and are capable of bridging the community with the government with commitment.

Reports indicated that the previous Area administrator and four Village administrators have been replaced by new elects, and the inhabitants expressed satisfaction with the election process and called on the new administration staff to do their level best to serve their community with enthusiasm.

Mr. Mohammed-Kier Hamd, the new Area administrator, pledged to serve the community with zeal. He further called on fellow inhabitants to collaborate with him and enhance participation in State affairs.

Wazintet Administrative area is inhibited by around 3,500 people, according to reports.
