Angola: Bengo Province Releases Second Edition of Literary Prize

Caxito — The second edition of "Literary Prize Bengo" was launched Tuesday in Caxito, northern Bengo province, during a ceremony presided over by vice governor for Political and Social Affairs, Maria Augusta Peixoto.

Addressing the launching ceremony of the prize, Maria Peixoto said that the local government, through Culture Department has a training programme in various fields of arts.

The vice governor mentioned among others theatre, dance, music and data collection regarding material and immaterial culture of the region to enriching the national collection.

To this purpose, she said, the Provincial Government decided to establish the Literary Prize Bengo, with a view to searching of new values and encourage young talent to disseminate their writings.

The first edition was held in 2012.
