Zimbabwe: Gate Eyes India PSL

Bulawayo Bureau — FORMER Young Warriors striker, Simbarashe Gate, could soon break into the Indian Premier Soccer League after undergoing a trial stint with Mumbai Football Club. The Kwekwe-born football star started his professional career at the now defunct Lancashire Steel before turning out for Mwana Africa, Zimbabwe Saints, Highlanders and Masvingo United in the local Premiership.

He is currently in India where he is undergoing trials.

He said he was impressed the club's technical department and, if all goes well, he could put pen to paper if they agree on terms.

"From the way things have gone the team's technical department has been impressed by me and I am confident I will be signing a contract with them soon if we agree terms," he said.
