Nigeria: Agency Raises Surveillance Team to Monitor Fuel Marketers

Lagos — The Department of Weight and Measures under the Ministry of Trade and Investment has set-up surveillance team to monitor fuel stations that cheat customers.

The agency's head, Mrs. Crescentia Erukpeme, explained that the team was also set up in order to ensure that standards and accurate measurements are strictly adhered to by fuel marketers.

She said any marketers found wanting by the team would face the full wrath of the law.

"We are not going to hesitate in sealing any filing station caught under dispensing products in the country. But when such mischief act persist, we are going to prosecute such station under the law set up by the Ministry of Trade and Investment," she said.
