Rwanda/Burundi: APR Depart for Burundi On Friday

RWANDAN league champions APR FC will depart for Bujumbura on Friday for the return leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary round match against Vital'O.

The military side was shocked to a 1-2 loss in the first leg match played at Amahoro stadium a fortnight ago and it was the first home defeat in the CAF Champions League for the military side, who are appearing in the competition for the eleventh time.

It was also Vital'O's first ever win over APR, and how important could it turn out to be.

According to APR secretary general Adolphe Kalisa, the team will leave on Friday morning for the match scheduled for on Sunday.

APR now need to win in the return leg by a 2-goal margin to advance to the first round. Last year, APR, under Dutch coach Ernest Brandts, now at Yanga FC in Tanzania, were eliminated by Tunisian side Etoile du Sahel in the first round.
