Nigeria: NNPC Commences N1.2 Billion Arepo Pipeline Project

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation has commenced a N1.2 billion pipeline reburying projects at Arepo and Ijoe Dodo axis of system 2B line.

Speaking at the flag off of the project at Arepo, the Group Managing Director of NNPC, Engineer Andrew Yakubu said the project will bring to a close the incessant pipeline vandalism in the axis.

In recent time, Pipeline and Products Marketing Company (PPMC) lines were attack three times from August 2012 to February 2013 along the Arepo axis; many lives were lost in addition to the products worth billions of naira.

Yakubu said before the intervention by the NNPC, petroleum products worth about N600 million were loss every week on the axis.

The projects will also include clearing pipelines Right of Way (ROW) from Atlas Cove to Ibadan.

Speaking, Mr Haruna Momoh, Managing Director , Product Pipelines Marketing Company (PPMC) re-assured Nigerians that scarcity of fuel would be addressed with the ongoing rehabilitation of all NNPC tank farms across the country.
