Tunisian police on Monday (February 26th) arrested two Le Kram men in connection with the murder of opposition leader Chokri Belaid, Tunisie Numerique reported.
The alleged assassin - a 31-year-old furniture maker - was arrested in Carthage. The second suspect is accused of helping the gunman flee by motorbike.
A woman who witnessed the February 6th killing reportedly tipped off authorities. She has been placed under police protection.
The assassination of Belaid spurred a political crisis in the country, culminating in the resignation of Hamadi Jebali and the appointment of Ali Larayedh as prime minister.
