Tunisian tennis player Malek Jaziri surprised Grand Slam record-holder Roger Federer in the first set at the Dubai Open on Monday (February 25th), TAP reported. To loud cheers from the crowd, the young man from Bizerte took the first set 5-7 before Federer rallied to win the next sets 6-0, 6-2.
The 128th-ranked Jaziri was a wild-card entry to the ATP event.
"People might think, okay he's a wild card, so it's an easy draw," AFP quoted Federer as saying before the match. "I think it's tricky, because I don't know exactly his pattern, his favourite shots, all those things."
