For the love of learning in The Gambia, a charitable organisation based in Manchester, UK recently donated large quantity of basketball vests, netball skirts, football kits, stationeries, clothing and a package of medicines to schools and communities in the country.

The founder of the organisation, Amy Coleman, who is in the country for a weeklong visit, said this time around she came with two students from the Blue Coat School Oldham, namely Katie Thompson and Ellie Smith.

On the purpose of their visit, she said, they came to provide support to the communities and schools in the West Coast Region, noting that Katie and Ellie had collected various items to reach out to them.

Amy Coleman disclosed that the benefiting communities are in the West Coast Region, namely Bijilo and Abuko. He said the donation is meant to encourage them to be hard working.

"I come to The Gambia every six week to give back to the schools and the community. I am sponsoring over hundred students, with the support of sponsors in England and I am happy with the difference it is making," Amy Coleman concluded.
