Upper Egypt's Qena has been put on alert ahead of the arrival of locust swarms coming from Aswan. The Ministry of agriculture said it has formed committees to combat desert locusts in Qena.
The Ministry said anti-locust teams are stepping up their operations in many areas in Aswan to control the situation.
