Egypt: Dostour Party - Monofeya Punished for Its Political Choices

Dostour Party denounced on Wednesday not assignning a governor to the governorate of Monofeya to date.

In a statement published on the Party's Monofeya page, it said that this reveals the will to punish the people of the governorate for their political choices in the presidential elections and the constitution referendum.

Most of Monofeya citizens voted against the draft charter which was supported by the president and the ruling Party.

Moreover, Monofeya mostly voted for President Mohamed Mursi's competition, Ahmed Shafik.

The statement added, "Not assigning a governor clearly obstructs work and does not express serious intentions from the officials to manage the executive work of this governorate, which has two industrial zones and thousands of factories."
