Kenya: Russian Opera Thrills in Nairobi

Last Saturday evening, Russian opera lovers were thrilled during a performance at the Alliance Francaise in Nairobi. This included a Russian singing and piano recital by Alexey Parfenov and Natalia Korshunova.

Natalia is a pianist who was born in Vladivistok and has performed to audiences around the world apart from her native Russia. Alexey who is also Russian is an artiste and baritone opera singer.

The two artistes played a list of classical and contemporary operas that were well received by the audience. In attendance were Russians living in Kenya like Konnik Tatiana, Natalia Korshunova and Galina Krumkacheva. The event was a joint collaboration between the Embassy of the Russian Federation and Alliance Francaise.
