Kenya: Thika West to Hold Walk for Peaceful Elections

Kenyans have undertaken to preach peace and tolerance as the country prepares for elections on March 4.

Professionals from Thika West will today participate in a 25km walk for peace ahead of he March 4 general election. Susan Gitau, the Founding Director of International Professional Counselors Center and African College of Professionals, said the walk was organised by a number of stakeholders from Thika town.

She said among the organisers is Street Security Company, Sure Guards and MjengoLight in collaboration with the area peace committee form the DC's office and the Municipal Council of Thika.

Others are Salvation Army, Public Health ministry and the National Cohesion and Integration Commission. "We are targeting the youth in the peace walk so that we can tell them to keep and maintain peace during the few days remaining before elections," said Gitau.
