Nigeria: Gov. Yero Signs 2013 Budget Into Law

Gov. Mukhtar Yero of Kaduna State on Wednesday signed the N179 billion 2013 budget into law.

Yero signed the budget during the State Executive Council meeting held at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, Kaduna.

The sum of N104.5 billion was earmarked for capital expenditure while N74.5 billion was earmarked for recurrent expenditures.

Signing the document, the governor said the budget was in line with the commitment of his administration toward reducing the cost of governance by cutting down on recurrent expenditures.

He reiterated the State Government's commitment toward transforming the state through provision of infrastructure to improve the living standards of the people.

Yero urged people to cooperate with the government by shunning acts of violence to create enabling environment for peace and sustainable growth.
