Zimbabwe: Dr Zobha to Grace Miss Valentine Marondera

Power FM prankster Dr Zobha will be the guest of honour at the Maronderas chapter of Miss Valentine slated for March 1 at Red Rat Outdoor Leisure Spot. About 40 top models drawn from Marondera and its environs will take to the ramp in the annual contest where the top three winners will be given fabulous prizes including a trip to Bindura where they will join other youths for the 21st February Movement celebrations.

Although much of the excitement will be on the ramp, Dr Zobha is likely to spice up things at the contest with his pranks.

Arguably one of the best radio presenters in the land, the inimitable Dr Zobha has featured at a number of shows and promotions, where besides livening up things, he rocks the crowd when he is behind the turntables.

Besides his knowledge on different subjects, Dr Zobha also knows how to move the crowds even in his drunken stupor. The Miss Valentine will run under the theme "Saying No to Homosexuality".

Dunmore Mutyambizi, the event organiser and director of Primus Capital Ventures, reiterated that all was set for the beauty contest.

"As you might be aware, this is one of the anticipated shows in Marondera and we are happy that everything is now in place. We have built it on the success of the previous shows and this time it's bigger and better. The emphasis this time is on the youths.

"The youths are encouraged to desist from homosexuality and this is what is being castigated in this year's theme. President Mugabe has spoken openly about homosexuality and as youths we rally behind His Excellency.

"We are also going to be celebrating his birthday through this pageant as the top three winners will have a chance to travel to Bindura for the 21st February Movement celebrations," Dunmore said.
