Egypt: Gov't Discusses Elections Preparations

The Cabinet, at its meeting on Wednesday 27/2/2013 under Prime Minister Hisham Qandil, underlined its role of extending all kind of support to the Higher Elections Commission to guarantee holding free and fair elections that could live up to the achievements of January 25th Revolution.

In this regard, the Cabinet reviewed the ongoing preparations for holding the parliamentary elections in accordance with the articles of the constitution and under a full judicial supervision.

Achieving such task is the most important mission that the government should take in such a critical phase of Egypt's history, asserted the Cabinet statement that was issued following the meeting.

The Cabinet pointed out that the government, since assuming its responsibility, has pledged to work seriously on achieving the aspirations of the Egyptian people.

Despite coming under attack from time to time, the government is committed to sustain its efforts to achieve its programs in the service of the Egyptian people, it said.
