Seven Malians were killed and 11 injured on Tuesday (February 26th) when a suicide bomber drove a car packed with explosives into a checkpoint in the northern Malian city of Kidal, AFP reported.
"The suicide attack targeted the checkpoint on the eastern side of Kidal which is manned by the MNLA," a French official said in Gao.
The secular Touareg rebels of the National Movement for the Liberation of Azawad (MNLA) support the military offensive against armed Islamist groups and their al-Qaeda allies.
