It seems that gambling has taken over the Liberian society with multiple institutions giving out huge cash when one wins. Most of the gambling are done during international soccer matches wherein a person bets for a team to win a particular match.

A 60-year-old man who took a chance to bet has won L$997,835.00 from Winners Incorporated, a leading sports betting company in Liberia.

Johnson Morgan, a resident of Front Street in Monrovia won the huge amount of money after playing L$30.00 multiple bet tickets.

Mr. Morgan said he has been betting with the company for the past one year with the hope of winning one day.

Speaking Wednesday at the presentation ceremony of the amount, Morgan said he plans to immediately build a house with the name. He said Winners will be written on his structure to encourage other players of the betting game.

"I will build a house with Winners' name for others to see...this is not magic, not medicine, it is the will of God..." Mr. Morgan joyfully added.

For his part, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Winners Inc. Yacob Batshon said Morgan broke the benchmark for highest winner from the company.

Mr. Batshon said his company would continue to work in Liberia with a goal of empowering its many customers. He said his company will continue the transformation of the people of Liberia.

Winners' Marketing Manager, Randall Kaybee who presented the amount said Winners is the only company in the world that allows multiple betting on a single ticket.

"We are changing lives through sports betting in Liberia and this is evidence of what we have been doing in the country by making people to get transformed," Mr. Kaybee noted.

He said it is awesome for a customer of the company to have broken the benchmark by winning such an amount.

Mr. Morgan bet for eight teams on a single ticket on February 26, 2013 in Monrovia.
