Kenya: Math Contest Held in Mang'u

Some 2,788 students participated in this year's maths annual contest held at St Francis Girls High school Mangu. There were 149 teams in written contest while 1,000 students battled it out in oral contest.

Mangu emerged victorious in the best overall boy's category. Nairobi High Schools were second followed by Njiri's Boys High School form Murang'a County. In the girls category, host St Francis won followed by Kabare. Kamahuha from Murang'a were third.

Nyaga secondary scooped the best mixed school award, closely followed by Vidhu Ramji and Ndekei in second and third positions respectively.

The contest was sponsored by Mt Kenya University, Riara Catholic University, Catholic University of East Africa, Strathmore University, KCA University, Zetech College, Haco industries and Safaricom
