Nigeria: NOC, Army Enter Pact for Glasgow, Rio Olympics

The leadership of the Nigeria Olympic Committee and the Nigerian Army have in principle entered a pact to work together for a better outing at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland next year and Olympics Games in Rio, Brazil in 2016.

Soliciting for the Nigerian Army support and collaboration to produce quality athletes for the country at the two world games, NOC president, Sani Ndanusa said he had to pay the Chief of Army Staff Gen Azubuike Ihejirika a visit in view of the record available that the military and para-military formations have produced notable Olympic gold medalists in the past.
