Ghana: President John Mahama Endorses Electoral Fraud

The let me vote count alliance, has observed with uttermost shock and total disappointment, the statements made by the President John Mahama, whose legitimacy is been challenged in the supreme court of Ghana.

On Thursday the 21st day of February 2013, President John Mahama in his delivery of the state of the Nation address indicated the 2012 election has been the most credible, internationally commended election since 1992 as observed by domestic and international observers, the President whose legitimacy is been challenged, went further to praise the electoral commission who is also in court as a defendant, praised him for an excellent work done.

We find this statement as a desperate attempt to secure legitimacy.

Mr. President, the freeness, fairness, transparency and the final outcome of the 2012 election which brought you into office was fraudulent, rigged massively and shrouded in unacceptable degrees of anomalies beyond every reasonable statistical and mathematical computations, and is been challenged by Ghanaians in court.

Secondly, we wish to remind the President, that he crossed the 50%, mark with some 150,000 votes far less than the total of some 241,000 votes the EC has not yet accounted for.

Is this what the President deems as the most credible election of all times?

The president by this profound statement confirms the looming perception and beliefs of the masses that he is a direct beneficiary of the rigging machinery employed by the NDC, in connivance with the Electoral Commission.

The President by his statement supports and endorses electoral fraud and administrative incompetence, and also sounded prejudicial by mocking the integrity of the Supreme Court even before the case challenging his legitimacy is opened.

We wish to remind the temporary President that Just as the NDC said at its trade fair rally in the run up to the December election that, "we have found the formula to win the 2012 election", we members of the let my vote count also believe we also hold the panacea to their electoral fraud, justice will prevail and John Mahama will step down in humiliation.

The LMVCA believes the elections of 2012 were rigged for John Mahama. We have been patient enough because we have absolute confidence in the Supreme Court, and are holding our hopes high in the ultimate belief that justice will be served to the good people of Ghana, as a means of deepening democracy. Justice must never be sacrificed for peace, but peace is rather a by-product of justice. It is only when justice is served that peace prevails.

Le my vote count... Don't destroy our democracy
