Egypt: Government Invites IMF to Visit Egypt in March - Minister

Minister of Investment Osama Saleh said that the government will invite the International Monetary Fund (IMF) team to visit Egypt during March to resume talks on the USD 4.8 billion loan Egypt seeks to receive from IMF.

In statements on Thursday 28/02/2013, the Minister noted that recent negotiations with IMF, which was held last November, on the loan were almost finished where they agreed on all items, but the events witnessed by the country after negotiations postponed the final approval of the loan.

Saleh pointed out that the invitation to IMF to visit Egypt comes after completion of the amendments to the economic reform program, and after President Mohamed Morsi called on all political blocs and parties to participate in the national dialogue.
