Nigeria: NNPC Increased Production to 130, 000 Barrels Per Day in 2012

Kaduna — The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) increased production from 76, 000 barrels per day in 2011 to 130, 000 barrels per day in 2012, the Group Managing Director of the Corporation, Engineer Andrew Yakubu has said.

Engineer Yakubu, who spoke at the Corporation's special day at the ongoing 34the Kaduna International Trade Fair said they will continue to pursue strategies to drive production growth towards achieving the target of 250, 000 barrels per day by 2015.

Represented by the Managing Director of the Kaduna Refinery and Petrochemical Company (KRPC), Engineer Bolanle Ayodele, Yakubu re-affirmed that the Corporation will re-double its efforts towards improving its performance.

"NNPC management recognizes and appreciates that human capital remains the most important resources to the Corporation so we have put measures in place to take care of the occupational and personal health as well as safety needs of our personnel," he said.

He re-assured that NNPC will continue to ensure the advancement of research and development, reserves addition and new business initiatives.
