Luanda — A multi-sector delegation headed by minister of Family and Women Promotion, Filomena Delgado, will attend from 4-15
March the 57th Session of the United Nations on women status to take place in New York, sponsored by UN/Women
A note from Minfamu delivered Friday to Angop says that the forum will be held under the central motto "Equal Sharing of HIV/AIDS Responsibilities between Women and Men."
The document stresses that the theme is part of the UN Convention on the Elimination of all forms of discrimination against women and girls, whose the theme will be discussed in five panels.
Among the topics proposed for the event, stress gos to the "Prevention of violence against women and girls", "services and multi-sector responses to violence against women and girls."
The event will also approve the action report of 2012 forum (57th Session) and plan of 58th meeting for March 2014.
At the end of the meeting the participants will adopt a declaration.
The 56th session on women status was also held in March at the same venue.
The Angolan delegation is leaving Saturday for New York and comprises MPs, government officials , representatives of public institutions, Ngos and civil society, officials and senior technicians of Family Ministry linked to the issues.
