Nigeria: Adamawa Emirate Crisis - District Head, Scribe Released On Bail

Yola — A Yola Upper Area Court yesterday ordered the release of the District Head of Girei in Adamawa State, Alhaji Mahmud Abba and Secretary of Adamawa Emirate Council, Alhaji Umaru Yahaya from prison.

The two were held on charges of "criminal conspiracy, misappropriation and cheating". When they were brought before the court on Wednesday, prosecutors alleged that they misappropriated over N276 million belonging to the emirate council.
