Egypt: 10 Percent Rise in Tourists Visiting Egypt in January

Prime Minister Dr. Hisham Qandil has reviewed the file of tourism and ways to revive it as well as monitoring the tourism movement during the past six months.

Figures showed that during January 2013, the number of tourists that visited Egypt reached 903, 000 with a rise of 10.2% compared to the same period of last year pumping extra USD 1bn to the state's coffers.

The European tourists had the lion's share of the number of tourists who visited Egypt in this period making around 71.4% of the total number of tourists.
