Nigeria: Noah's Ark Communication Wins Creative Industry Award

Lagos — Noah's Ark Communications Limited, has emerged the winner of the 2012 Creative Industries Awards organized by the Creative Entrepreneurs Association of Nigeria (CEAN) in collaboration with the British Council.

Speaking at the award event which held recently at the British Council office, Lagos, the Secretary General of the Creative Entrepreneurs Association of Nigeria (CEAN), Mrs. Oluwayemisi Mafe disclosed that the Creative Industries Award was instituted by the association in partnership with the British Council to reward initiative, talent, creativity and entrepreneurship.

She noted that shortlisting for the different categories for the 2012 Creative Industries Award was a very tall order as the creative industry witnessed tremendous growth with many entrepreneurs making impact in the different fields of the creative industry.

Receiving the award, the Managing Director, Noah's Ark Communications Limited, Mr. Lanre Adisa described the award as another very significant milestone in the history of the Agency. He added that the award will further spur the agency to better performance in terms of its creative output and value to the brands in its custody.

Adisa thanked the Creative Entrepreneurs Association of Nigeria (CEAN) for the honours bestowed on the agency.

He also commended the various strides of the association to develop the creative industries by encouraging entrepreneurship through its activities in partnership with the British Council.

Other winners of the awards include; Ayo Makun (AY) for comedy category, Book Craft (Publishing category ) Banky W's EME records (Music Category), Kelechi Amadi Obi ( Visual Art Category ),Film House (Film category), Mai Atafo (Fashion), Jumia.com.ng (New Media), DJ Sose (Performing Arts).

Apart from these categories, the former Saturday Editor of The Guardian Newspaper, Mr. Jahman Anikulapo was conferred with the Creative Hallmark Award while the late Entertainment Editor of the Vanguard Newspaper, Amadi Ogbonna was bestowed a special post humus award.
