Egypt: Court to Rule On Constitution-Writing Assembly

Egypt's Constitutional Court will rule on Sunday on appeals filed against the constituent assembly that wrote the country's new constitution.

The court had ruled last month to extend the reviewing period of the challenges to the law which upon members of the assembly were elected.

The Islamist-dominated assembly finished writing the text last November, putting it to a referendum to be passed by a close majority and called into effect weeks later.
