Nigeria: Governor's Wife Donates Artificial Limbs to 39 Amputees

The wife of Kwara Governor, Mrs Omolewa Ahmed, has donated artificial limbs to 39 amputees in the state.

This is contained in a statement issued by her Chief Press Secretary, Mrs Funke Oludipe, in Ilorin on Sunday

According to the statement, the gesture is aimed at aiding the movement of the amputees so as to make life and means of livelihood easier for them.

Ahmed said that her pet project-LEAH Charity Foundation would not relent in making life more bearable for the physically challenged.

"It is the desire of LEAH Charity Foundation to empower and keep amputees and other physically challenged people of the streets," she said.

The statement advised people who had lost their limbs to register with the foundation so as to benefit from the exercise. (NAN)
