Tanzania: President Acts Tough On Religious Violence

PRESIDENT Jakaya Kikwete has said all persons instigating violence in the country under the pretext of religious differences will not be tolerated.

In his monthly address to the nation yesterday, the president said starting from late last year, there have been uncalled-for incidences of sowing seeds of conflict and hatred among Christians and Muslims, disrespect for other religion's teachings and the torching of churches.
