Angola: International Handball Federation Chairman Jets in

Luanda — The chairman of the International Handball Federation (IHF), Mustapha Hassan, on Monday in Luanda manifested his willingness to support the holding of a world handball championship in Angola in case this country applies for this goal.

Mustapha Hassam was speaking to journalist about the possibility of Angola holding a world handball championship.

He said Angola is a strong country in handball and it has good conditions, so if the country shows interest in organising a world cup it will get the support of the IHF.

The chairman of the IHF, Mustapha Hassan, spoke to the press after arriving in Luanda, at the 4 de 04 de Fevereiro International Airport, where he was received by the chairman of the Angolan Basketball Federation (FAB), Pedro Godinho.

According to the four-day visit programme, the IHF official is to hold meetings with the Angolan minister of Youth and Sports, Gonçalves Muandumba, and FAB officials.

He is also to visit the building works of the Arena de Luanda pavilion, which will host the roller-skate hockey world championship on 20-28 September, this year.

Angola has eleven African handball titles, several participations in world championships and Olympic Games.
