South Africa: Mango Career Day

Mango in association with different state owned entities hosted an aviation career day at Spes Bona Senior Secondary. Aviation is a career not many learners are familiar with. Government in partnership with Mango airlines are committed to inform learners of the different rewards which aviation offers.

The government have realised a lack of career opportunities amongst learners at many local schools. Most learners do not have a clue in which direction to go after matric. This is one of the chief reasons for the high unemployment rate, nationally.

Mrs Connie September, a Member of the Parliament (MP) said, "If you take the state owned entities you will see there's a career available. bursaries are accessible for learners who struggle financially. Adding further, "We want to keep our children off the streets by show casting all the different possibilities there is after grade twelve."

Saajidah Felton a Gr 11 learner at Alexander Sinton High said she would definitely do more research about the importance of aviation.

A fellow grade 12 learner from Alexander Sinton, Abdul- Basit Roman said, "I found this day very informative. I definitely have some interest in airlines now."
