Nigeria: Police Nab Student With Slain Damoche's Phone

The Police in Lagos, yesterday, gave the identity of the LagosStateUniversity student on whom the phone of late Damino Damoche, the 400 level Banking and Finance student killed last Thursday by suspected cultists in front of LASU gate, as Durojaye Olaleye.

Olaleye was said to have been arrested by operatives from the Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja in the school premises.

His arrest as gathered, caused pandemonium as some of his colleagues attempted to stop his being whisked away.

Meanwhile, out of the 70 suspects arrested weekend in connection with Damoche's killing, 36 had been released, with 34 still in detention.

Police sources said the detained suspects' statement led to Olaleye's arrest and subsequent recovery of the late Damoche's phone.

Spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Ngozi Braide confirmed the arrest, adding that he had been transferred to the homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba, for further interrogation.
