Liberia: Hon. Bardyl to Intervene in Land Dispute

Rep. Charles Bardyl of District # 3 River Gee County has promised citizens of Nyenabo district of his commitment to intervene in the land dispute between them and Gedebo People in Karluway District.

Hon. Bardyl made the commitment during a town hall meeting recently when citizens of Nyenebo District complained about the Gedebo Ethnic Group from Maryland County continual encroachment and asked him to mediate in order to avoid any acts of violence and further crisis.

The people of Nyenebo District also informed their Lawmaker that the encroachment by the Gedebo People is causing serious hindrance to their farming activities especially the destruction of their cash crops like cocoa, coffee and rubber.

According to the Resource Officer of Hon. Bardyl, the River Gee Lawmaker promised to take up the matter with his colleagues in the Maryland Legislative Caucus and called on his constituents to remain law abiding as he takes up the matter peacefully.

Mr. James S. Laban told Legiscope that Hon. Bardyl warned citizens to stay away from acts that have the propensity to cause division between citizens of River Gee and Maryland counties because both counties share common ideology and culture.

"We are the same people regardless of our boundary lines; we speak the same language which is Grebo. So let us focused and peaceful as I meet with colleagues in the House of Representative especially those in the Maryland Legislative Caucus." Hon. Bardyl was quoted as saying.

At the same time, Hon. Bardly has commended his constituents for their unflinching support and commitment shown his since his election in 2005 and re-election in the October 2011 Elections and promised to demonstrate the confidence repose in him by them.

The River Gee Lawmaker assured them of his continual efforts in making sure that the people of District #3 benefit from developmental projects from the County Development Fund.

Some of the Unity Party Lawmaker legislative projects ear-marked in the 2012-2013 National Budget include the webbo Community Clinic, River Gebeh Clinic, Suwronken Community School and the Chea Chepo Junior High school.

Hon. Charles Bardyl, who hails from webbo, is noted for several developmental initiatives in District # 3 River Gee County.
