The Liberian Senate during its 59th day setting, as usual, after a heated debate, enacted into law proposed bills that were pending in committee rooms for legislations.

These bills were before two Statutory Committees of the The Liberian Senate for scrutiny. The Committee on Judiciary, claims,petitions and Human Right and the Committee on Gender, Health, Social Welfare, Women and Children Affairs. After careful scrutiny, the two committees submitted their reports to the full plenary for action.

Following their separate submission and subsequent legislative debate, the Senate, on 28th, August 2012 voted unanimously to legislate the following Bills: an "act to establish policy on the use of the white cane to safe guard the rights of the blind to public facilities in Liberia". This bill was sponsored by Margibi county Senator Clarice A. Jah.

Other bills passed into law include, "an act to establish the Liberian College of physicians and surgeons". It is sponsor by Senator Peter S. Coleman of Grand Kru County and Co-Sponsor by G. Alphonso Gaye of Grand Gedeh County. The intent of this bill is to save the Liberian government and citizens from travelling abroad to spend huge amount on medication. The college is expected to get under way very soon and will be in full swing in four years time as a long term plan.

The Senate has also passed into law "an act guiding the period a person nominated by the president of the Republic of Liberia under the article 54 of the Liberian constitution subject to confirmation by the Liberian Senate shall Act prior to confirmation. While a bill creating Jukuleh District in Bong County as a statutory District has been passed into law.
