Montserrado County District # 5, Thomas P. Fallah has written the Plenary of the House of Representatives requesting the body to transform the former 72nd Military Barracks into a modern competitive recreation center in the 72nd Community.
Rep. Fallah among other things said such initiative will address the uneven access to supportive social program such as playground, library, and computer lab. Entrepreneur activities that will increase our children's hands on skills and opportunities, nourish their spirits, strengthen their intellect and teach them reverence for the body as compared to other urban Liberian communities.
He said the decision is in keeping with child rights perspective under the United Nations Charter which emphasizes the holistic fulfillment of equal rights for all children especially those provisions which set standards for the growth and well being of children.
The country has no public playground or park facility where children with recreation equipment such as seesaw, merry go-round, swing set, slide jungle gun among others.
