Egypt: Sisi Praises Armed Forces Men On Martyr Day

Defense Minister Abdel Fatah al-Sisi stressed on Thursday 7/3/2013 that the Armed Forces will exert all efforts to protect Egypt and preserve its dignity no matter what the sacrifices are.

Sisi, at a seminar marking the Martyr Day, saluted all army men, saying the army and the police are the two security wings of Egypt and they play a great job to preserve the country's security and stability.

"We will never forget our martyrs and the wounded," Sisi said, stressing that the Armed Forces takes good care of martyrs' families and provide all necessary medical care to servicemen wounded in military operations.

The seminar is organized by the Army's Morale Affairs Department to mark the Martyr Day that falls on the same day former Chief of Staff General Abdel Monem Riyad was killed on the Egyptian front line in 1969.
