Tunisia: Talks On Formation of Government Take New Turn

Tunis — The Ennahdha, CPR (Congress for the Republic) and Ettakatol parties are discussing Thursday a new scenario after the failure of talks on enlarging the Troika to other political partners, Khalil Zaouia, leading member of Ettakatol told TAP.

Participants in the meeting held with the Prime Minister-designate in Dar Dhiafa, Carthage are seeking to "reach an agreement on the approach to be adopted in the formation of the new government," said Zaouia, adding that the dissolution of the Troika is possible.

The Wafa Movement, the Democratic Alliance and the parliamentary bloc "Freedom and Dignity" had announced their withdrawal from talks and said they will not be part of the new government, though they had pointed to "progress" in talks two days ago.
