It has been a long week for Kenyans, and exciting too. On Monday we stood in lines under the hot scorching sun as we waited to vote in the much-awaited general election. I was at my polling station early to fulfill my civic duty and get back to East FM.

As the day progressed, social media, especially Twitter, updated us about what was happening around the country. Some posted pictures taken on their smartphones wherever they were, updating the world on our rather peaceful day despite a few incidences here and there. However, someone at CNN decided to spoil our party by airing a ridiculous story about a fake militia group - a militia comprising four people! When asked to verify, it was like a kid caught with a hand in the cookie jar.
