Egypt: Three Giant Electricity Projects Ending Problem of Power Outage

The Ministry of Electricity next month floats three mega ventures before global and private sector companies for producing electricity at capacities of 5500 megawatt.

The projects will be offered under the B.O.T. system at an investment cost of EGP 50 billion, and aims at putting an end to the problem of power failure.

Minister of Electricity Ahmed Emam said the offering of the ventures comes in implementation of the Cabinet decision to amend the electricity sector plan.

The three projects will be established in Dairut at a capacity of 2250 megawatt, Qena (1300 megawatt) and Beni Suef (1950 megawatt).
